Wondering if anyone recognizing this mark and/or sword? It's from a basket hilt I have had for a few years. No other marks (like "Made in..") that I can find.

That might be an early Armour Class sword. You might consider emailing them and asking. The blade fullers are reminiscent of their blades to my eyes and the "A-C" certainly works.

I believe what you have is a sword made by Alex Cameron. The photo of the hilt reminds me of swords I have seen that he produced as does the grip. Mr. Cameron frequented Highland games in the SE US until a few years ago when I believe he had a stroke and had to stop making swords. A group he formed or perhaps formed around him, called "The Wild Highlanders," still makes an occasional appearance.

The swords he made which I have examined were all solidly built if a little heavy and were intended, I believe, for live steel combat. I am pretty sure that the hallmark on your sword is what he used but it has been several years since I actually looked at one.

And, I could be totally incorrect.

Hmm that almost sounds familiar and Armour Class says that it's neither one of theirs nor do they have any info into it's origin. I may check with the Wild Highlanders and see if anyone recognizes the mark. Thank you both

Someone from the Wild Highlanders confirmed it is one of Alex Cameron's creations.

I am Scot Cameron son of Alex. That is a early makers mark of his. He and I made the swords and Scottish weapons together. If you send me a full photo I can will tell you which sword it was and about time frame we made it.
