Hi all,

Here's a fun challenge for you all that I really would appreciate some help with: What would be considered the latest fashion and newest inventions in armour in England 1410? I'm currently doing some research to get inspiration for my next arms and breastplate, but everything regarding armour at the time is helpful.

I'd say the latest in fashion and design would be a great bascinet, full encased arm and leg harnesses with the besicues ( probably spelled that wrong)

The great bascinet was the big new thing during the early 15th century, up until they had further perfected the armet :) Great helm for mounted and foot combat...but kinda lacked being able to turn your head :P

There is a crudely illustrated English manuscript in the Morgan, MS M.766, a Speculum humanae salvationis from Yorkshire, c. 1400. It will soon be added to the manuscript miniatures site, but here's the link and a few highlights.

i apologize for this post, feel free to delete it, but i just have to say,
this mcpherson armour makes me drool,
this shining black with the golden enamels is the most beautiful suit of armour i`ve ever seen.
