Brian,

This is an exceptional scabbard even by your standards. And on my favorite Albion sword, no less! The intricacies of the detail work and variety of elements are complimentary and make for a fabulous display. Thank you for sharing. May I inquiry for a picture of the back side of this scabbard suspension? Can't find a good image of how it all works... Might be interested in trying my hand at it. Cheers, and thanks again!

Wow! The amount of detail on that is amazing! I especially like the Fleur-de-lis patterns done with the gold and red behind it. Great job!!

Hello, I am quite happy to say that I commissioned this scabbard. I have not put my hands of it yet, and seeing these pics, I just can not wait...the result is magnificient. I must also say that I left Brian a lot of place for his imagination, starting from a general concept I submitted to him, and I am glad I did it: this guy know his thing and is truly an artist. The result is much better than what I had in mind when I originally placed my commission.

The level of detail laid over detail, all of which is sharp as hell is extraordinary and really does make you the king of carved scabbards.

Rich in detail, good use of the Fleur de Lys, a sculptural feel of some of the larger decorative elements as well as textured borders leaving enough of the surface plain to create a good contrast between worked/tooled surfaces and smooth surfaces.

Wow! that is some amazing work. Now you are rivaling the master western saddle carvers...

That sword is one of my favorites too. On the note of over decoration, I think that one only has to look to tradtional cultural arts to see that there has been always highly decorated pieces. I still say look there and you will see highly decorated pieces that get used.

Thats a beautiful piece of work indeed . But tell me..is it set up for a south-paw ? To me, the belt looks like it's meant to have scabbard hanging from right hip, rather than the more usual left ?

Thanks Ralph, and yes it's for a left-handed swordsman. :cool: Which is kind of interesting when 9 out of 10 scabbards you build are for right-handed, so construction / assembly seems so odd!
