I'd tell you to go watch the Derby, but Derby admission costs $50 a head just to get into the Paddock and the Infeild, so go on another day. :p It's a beautiful place... you won't regret going even if you don't care for horse racing.
The Fraiser Arms Museum is in a really neat part of Louisville, (pronounced "Loo-vl" by the natives, not "Louis-ville") next to the Louisville Slugger Museum and across the street from the Natural Science Museum, and a short walk from nice resturaunts. Admission was not expensive... (sorry, but I can't recall the dollar amount at the moment) and if you have interests beyond the medieval -the French and Indain War, for instance- you'll find the trip supremely worthwhile. :cool:

I got my first issue of Arms & Armour (vol 1 #2) yesterday, and I'm impressed. Huge variety of topics--18th century English cutlers, sniper rifles of WWII, 19th c. breech loading rifles, plastics on arms and armour in the RA collections, etc. All very interesting. Beautiful chiseled basket hilt of 1760 on the cover!

I did get a confirmation e-mail, Alexi. Something like "Your Maney Publishing Order has been processed". That was Nov. 18. My first attempt to subscribe hit some sort of technical snag, but it was clear at that moment that I had to re-start. Maybe they don't process the subscriptions automatically, but just when they get to them. Anyway, mine started with Vol 1, #2, and I've asked Maney how to get the first issue. I'll let you know what I hear back from them.

I've also received mine. It's well worth the money.
