Difficult to judge the scale from a photo. That would be the only thing to detract in any major way.
You got the chape very like the original Vättern sword. I documented that one a few years back, and the chape is done exaclty like you did. Only very minor difference may be that it could have been hot forged, or made from softer iron: there is some trace of plastic deformation, but it is basically just a cut out shape bent to fit the end of the scabbard.
Your interpretation is very much in the spirit of these swords. If anything it is a tad too neat in some aspects ;-)

A few long overdue pics of very poor quality. This is a fairly loose interpretation, the grip just isn't long enough to really fit the type. I just wanted to practice forging hilt components. Albion type XVI blade, 36", 7.6" cross, 7.5" grip. Since I took these pictures, I stripped the grip to the wooden core and am refinishing the hilt components. I'll post some better pics of the refitted sword when I can. I am thinking maybe a bare birch grip with bands of wire wrap.

And these posted by Björn Hellqvist. Check out the condition of that original scabbard, amazing! It is difficult to tell if the blade is a fullered XVIIIb or more of a hexagonal section. Also, notice the lack of chape on the scabbard. Also, check out Mr. Hellqvists sword site, in the Virtual Museum section, under the title "warsword."
