Nasty brutish and short...
My Arms and Armor Katzbalger showed up yesterday. Of course I'll be posting a full review with pictures this weekend. It really is a wicked little weapon and not a finesse item by any means. I sort of think of it as a well balanced club with a blade in fact. I like it... :)
lol... Thought for a minute you'd seen a picture of me somewhere....

Look forward to you pics and review. I personally have a soft spot for katzbalgers. Been thinking for a while that I'd like to have a matching pair of them, a full sized sword length and the more commonly seen short guy...
Oh I forgot to ask last night. Does anyone know what the original for this particular sword was? It doesn't appear to have been from the Wallace Collection like so many of Arms and Armor's replicas.

The A&A Web site mentions this:

Quote:
Original: c. 1560, Deutsches Klingen Museum, Solingen

Though I don't have it in any of my books, we can presume they got it right! :)
Duh! I should have thought to check the site myself. :)
