We are forced to announce an across the board 10% price increase, effective July 1, 2012, for all items other than Maestro Line swords.

We dislike doing this, especially in this economy, but it is a fiscal necessity.

However, as we have always done, any order placed before July 1, 2012 will be honored at the old price, including layaway/payment plans and pre-orders of swords in development.

Like I said, we hate doing this and would not do it unless absolutely necessary. We have avoided increases wherever possible, done them only selectively, delayed them, tried to mitigate them, but this time we have just have to bite the bullet and do it.

That's sad to hear Howy. Things are rough all around these days. Still, you all have to do what you can to survive. I know for myself this will effectively price some items I may have considered beyond my realm of comfort till I graduate. I wish nothing but the best for you all and I hope we can all navigate uncertain times and come out the other side. I know where I'll be spending my graduation money! Here's hoping for the best!

I know no one is getting rich making swords and I know you guys don't make these decisions lightly. Thanks for holding off as long as you could.

The quality is still there, as is the variety--which is ever increasing. A price increase is unfortunate, but certainly not an unreasonable or unforeseen event. I too appreciate the attempt to stave off as long as possible, and wish to add my thanks

out of curiosity. why is the maestro line being spared the price increase?

I still plan to buy more Albions. Your swords have always been a good deal for the quality provided. The fact of the matter is that inflation and the cost of living keeps going up, as do prices of raw materials, so I understand the need for a price increase.

I believe that all of you at Albion who are performing to expectation should be given a raise for a job well done! I do not believe your product is too expensive and I am quite certain there is not a huge profit margin. People at Albion and in any sector in manufacturing deserve a decent living. It takes years to acquire the skills needed and a lifetime to master them. It would stun most people who have never experienced the costs of machine tools and the supplies needed to manufacture an item. I for one do not mind spending a little more for my luxuries and hope that you will be able to reward your craftsmen to both retain and draw in new blood. Thank you! I have enjoyed my 4 Albions immensely and look forward to the next one whichever one it may be. One more comment, Albion has layaway.

well for me the albion swords im eyeing are your dark age swords, particularly the vittfarne sword in your skirmish line, but a increase by 10% wont be too bad, i calculate it willl jump the price of these swords from 550 to 605$ US which is still quite a reasonable price in my eyes.

and, as far as i understand the skirmish line swords dont come paired with a scabbard unless you order one separately do they?
