Years ago, I received a large meat cleaver from my grandfather. I cleaned it up, brushing the rust off, and added a mahogany handle. The one thing that's always puzzled me has been this sort of maker's mark on the blade:
I honestly have no idea if this is the right forum to ask about it, but is there any way to look up the old forge marks like the one on my cleaver?

Best I can tell is that the blade dates from the early 20th century.
