Oooh, Karl, that's a nice one! When you get it, please post the specs.

My most recent is here:

More than likely going to be somebody else claiming it as their "most recent" before too very long.

Karl and Joe, those are both gorgeous!
My latest sword is this lovely A&A German Rapier. Though I must admit my attraction to it was as much from the influence of fantastical stories and films as it was from historical study, the piece is a marvelous reproduction of a 1600s weapon.

Zach,
Wow. Thanks for the pics of that. I've been doing Italian rapier for a few months now and I really have developed an eye for these. Will there be a forthcoming unofficial review?

Thanks Eric! I wrote up this review over at SBG; I suppose I could also port it over here if that's easier?
new Albion Knight
1st off sorry about the bad photos.
I received a nice big brown box today from KoA, bit of a pain but I had to wait 5 hours to open it untill I got it home from the office. 7 days postage from USA to Australia and no molesting from customs ;)
Big thankyou to KoA after 2 returns I settled on an Albion Knight which they had in stock with a dark drown grip, and great job on the packing, very securer. I’d previously been deciding between the Knight and an aTrim but given this opportunity I went with the Knight.
I’ve had very limited experience with swords and really only have my Crecy to compare it with. My Crecy handles wonderfully with 2 hands and quite well in 1, but the Knight is something else in one handed dry handling it leaves the Crecy for dead, I’m actually a bit surprised at just how quickly yet powerfully it handles.
Anyway ive taken a few bad photos enjoy, only one question re the last photo ;)

Something I didn’t expect, one of the fullers is full of resin almost overflowing, I assume the maker put a bit too much on the grip and it squeezed up under the guard, don’t know if it’s worth trying to get out or even if it’s possible, what do you think?

Good job on getting the Knight. It is a sword that will never dissapoint. It's apparent simple appearance is a long way from how good this sword actually is . When times got tough I sold all of my swords and this is the only one I truly miss. I wouldn't remove the resin I think it is part of the method of securing the cross. Check with Albion for definitive answer on this.
Great choice on the Albion Paul, and an attractive pair.
I just got this in the mail after buying it HERE in the Marketplace forum. Chris Gregg let go of his DelTin Irish sword and I snatched it up.

Now, I am a NUT when it comes to Irish swords and this will make (a replacement) #4 and add to the collection nicely (top left). (This is also my 4th DelTin)

I can't wait to scabbard it up and wear it this summer!

Murphy, glad you like the old Del Tin Irish! Oh, and I'm not quite out of Irish swords - still have my Arms and Armor Irish single-hander. Perhaps I shall wear it to Bristol this year?
I'm hoping to pick up that very same sword this year with some help (hopefully) from Karl at the Bristol A&A booth.
Then it's a Kern from Albion.....
Then maybe the Galloglass....
Then maybe one of BKS' if I can convince them to not round off the ring pommel on one.
Plus I am pals with Ken Nelson over at Iron Wolf Forge and should (soon, actually) be picking up an Irish-inspired basket hilt for a cutlass blade I have. I'm sure he's itching to make me an Irish key-hilt or two!
Like I may have mentioned...I'm a NUT for Irish hilts.
Thanks again, Chris. Good deal and a beautiful sword.

Congratulations, Paul. That's a great looking pair of swords. When I noticed the KOA in-stock Knight was no longer listed, I had a feeling you'd snagged it, based on previous comments on these boards. Well done. (I'm still debating myself over which Albion single-hander to order.) Sounds like you're pleased, too. What were the two KOA returns, btw?

Thanks mate, yea that knight had been calling to me for a long time.
Id got a Hanwei Bushido from KoA a while back and id noticed the blade was a bit off and after a bit of deliberating I decided to send it back. The replacement came and whilst it had a near perfect blade the handle had a split / cracked join which I think was due to a poor internal chisel job by the maker. Anyway I sent that one back too but i didnt want to risk a 3rd one so i grabbed the Knight :D b4 someone else did.
I do kinda miss the Bushido and am really drawn to owning a Katana again and as such a katana is on my next list :) this is the maker im currently researching from China http://kaneiesword.cn/ best to use Google Chrome and its translate feature. edit, new english site http://www.k-sword.com/
Cheers
Paul
Jiri Krondak training langmesser.
Not very fancy but very very functional. Weight is exactly 1kg, point of balance 3 fingers from the crossguard and it's extremely fast.
I have tried a few messers and they have all been too heavy and unwieldy. This one is not.
Purchase process, shipping and email communication was perfect, shipped in 3 days.

Just picked up an Angus Trim XIIIb.1 with a custom guard from Tried and True Armory. This is my first Angus Trim sword.

I just received a Hanwei Baselard. This is one of the models that Hanwei first advertised in January of 2011, but the factory fire has delayed their distribution. Some (like the rondel) have been released, but not the baselard. Therion Arms managed to get a few and I picked one up. It is advertised as being based on one in the Wallace Collection. I looked, but couldn't find it. It also says on all Casi blurbs that it is a single edged blade, but it is diamond section double edged.
OL - 19.75
BL - 14.625
BW at guard - 1.25
It is very nice for a Hanwei. The baselard hilt is a new one for my hand, but interesting.

Congrats on a VERY nice blade :D
Evolution Arms, ATrim 28 inch Thorpe styled Falchion
I’ve never really been interested in Falchions or single edged medieval blades until recently when my interest was sparked after reading a few novels. I started looking and the more I saw the more I liked and recently Marc Ridgeway gave me the opportunity to purchase this one ;) http://forum.sword-buyers-guide.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10614 after a few pms the deal was done, a week and a half later I had it in my hands. I really like this one a lot :)
