I've completed another piece, as a historical fantasy piece for fun and adventure. The name "Santo" is a portmanteau of seax and tanto, from which I derived inspiration. The blade fits almost too snugly in the sheath, but you needn't worry over ever losing it! And yes, it fits in edge down (the "wrong" way) but it is quite serviceable.

Nifty! I've gotten interested in mash-up knife forms as well. It's an interesting challenge to successfully combine forms from different weapons and cultures. Never thought about Asian-Western, but I like this. I love that Kindjal, too. Reminds me more of the kind of thing I'm currently interested in--has almost a 19th. c. Anglo-American dagger or bowie look about it, with the black and steel aesthetic. I still plan to make a Bama-wehr. :D
Indeed, the Santo breeding program has exhibited exceptional hybrid vigour! :)
And I've more Kindjal on the way, eventually. They are certainly among my favorite type, being a sickeningly effective form which can be found in an innumerable array of variations.

The shape of the blade is reminiscent of a very deadly claw, so you could market them as Santo Claws...Yeah, I know, but once it came to me I had to share!
