Boarding axe??
i have an axe in my collection wich looks identical to late 19e century boarding axes. This one however is made of cast iron. Does Anyone know if it's old ore not.

The axe's head looks like old but its handle isn't to me.
Get me an expert on this axe!

Jeroen got it right. It is a German WWI pioneer trench axe. I dont know enough about them to tell you if its an earlier one or not. I think the earliest versions had brass plates on the sides, but dont quote me on that.

I believe Austrian rather German . WWI Pioneer axe it is. I have just about the same, but mine is forged without seam. It can be die-forged, handle looks ok.
