16 inches -- unusually long, but not unheard of.
Here are some more:

Custom Dirk
Evenin All

Here is a dirk we just finished up toady. It is a fellow in the shop who was making it for his own collection. He prefers the aged look as he takes quite a while to work a patina into the item so it has that well used and worn look. The blade is actually a recycled sword blade.

Dirk done in hard wood and bronze with steel blade. Aged to appear old.
Ooo... another nice, one, Craig. I really like the looks of that one. Is nice... :)

Hey Craig! Ever thought of adding a dirk or two to your "regular" line up...? ;)

Ooh, ooh...what he said!!! :D
Dirk's
Ahh, biggest two blocks to us offering one is the great amount of time in carving the grip and the fact we can never decide on any one style. We have a tendency to perfer the early ones and each time we do one there is a different one we are itching to do.

That's a beautiful piece Craig. I really like the overall effect that the aging process had on it.

What's the blade length? Looks like a biggun'

Yea she's a pretty good size. I never did actually measure the blade but my guess is 18 " to 19" or so. It would definitely be in the upper end of the size pocket. The length was more dictated by the chunk of sword blade we used as any set plan.

Hey all!
I am new to the forums and thought i'd put my Sghian Dubh up here. Let me know what you think.
The hilt is antler and the blade is short, coming in at around 4".

Cal
