Make Your Sword Your Shield
Hello,

Can anyone tell me the source of this quote: "Make your sword your shield"? I thought I "knew" it was from Ringeck, but I just had cause to go back and re-work a lot of my translation of Ringeck and was surprised to see it's not there. I checked von Danzig and Döbringer, too--no joy. I use the expression all the time, and I hate to say something I don't have a citation for, but I'm sure I didn't make it up. Thanks!
Source = Me.

Cheers,

Christian

LOL! I should have know, Christian. From now on I'll make sure I give the credit to you and not to Ringeck when I yell this at my students.
It's also quite literally true when you're playing Gioco di Ponti... A lovely vestige of medieval foot combat games still alive today in Italy...

Too bad they've stopped hitting each other recently :(
