This is a hunting falchion that I recently made. I was inspired by a few different historical hunt swords and falchions and this is my interpretation of a logical merge.
Purpleheart handle, steel hilt and double false edged blade with fileworked spine.

I have had several PM's asking if the blade is rigid. This is based off of a 3/16" blank and is quite rigid.
Hey Mat nice work as always.
Good stuff Matt.
Is that guard historically based or something that just looks cool?

As stated in my first post, The hilt is a merge of a few historical pieces. It certainly is not a direct copy of an antique but it does take the shapes and lines of some historical pieces. IMO I would say that the hilt is historically feasible. You often see a hilt like this having a finger loop as seen on Tod's Italian version that he just posted but just as often they are more like this. Some are sharp angles like this and some have rounded transitions.
