We will be starting production of Ti chain mail shortly. All of the strength of stainless steel, the look of period maille (you could not tell the difference between steel and out Ti maille at one foot away) and the weight of aluminum.

At the bottom of his post is his web site, below is a shortcut though his online catalog. Since he said it's going to look like the Blackened Flat Riveted Steel Chainmail he now carries , I'd look at those photos.

I will have some pics up soon. I do not have any stock yet but I am gettting an order together. I have only one shirt and some sample squres. We will be the ONLY place in the world you will be able to find flat ring, riveted Ti Maille at this point. You will not be able to tell the difference between this and mild steel maille by sight. Only when you lift it and find it has feather weight, will you know it is not. :)
I will be posting pics of the items I have and our prices so folks can order. The plan is for the first run to be delivered by late this summer.

Prices are posted and you may start ordering now. The delivery date for this order is likely to be in Late summer. That is what we are shooting for at least. It might be slightly longer as there have been some delays with imports. We will only be taking half down now and the other half upon shipping to you.

Wedge rivets are only available in mild steel. We used stainless pin rivets, so you will not have any upkeep issues. Ti rivets would have cracked.
Any reason you would have wanted wedge rivets over the pin? You cannot tell from more than a few feet away what kind they are and pin is more common in existing examples of chainmail.

My LH group prefers wedge to round. Then again, titanium rings and stainless rivets would probably not pass muster either. Mostly curiousity led me to aks the question.

Still curious as to why they would prefer wedge. Do you know the reason?

depends on the time frame. some later LH groups use wedge only cause the pin looks less period or is less period to them

If I'm not mistaken, pin never went out of production and was made at the same time as wedge.
right but some groups are really picky. i mean really. :) most of my groups have the if its riveted its fine standing due to both the pin and wedge both looked the same amount of "off" compared to an original. :)

It should not look too off. I was just in the museum last week looking at maille and the pin rivets look exactly the same. There were no examples of wedge at the museum so I could not tell you what they should have looked like or wether the modern versions look the same. It is hard to make pin rivets look different from one another. They are a pretty straight forward design.
