I recently discovered this forum, and was immediatley fascinated. I have a lifelong interest in knives, and have always been fascinated with ancient edged weapons. My main collecting interest are the German military and hunting daggers of all periods up to 1945. However I have included several older pieces in my collection.
As part of my occupation I spend several days each year at the klingenmuseum in solingen Germany. Having looked at the displayed collection many times, I will be able to focus on more specific items and study them with some background gained from this fine forum.
I have also been tempted to make a couple of pieces for my own collection, but have hesitated since I am a bit of a stickler for historical accuracy. With help from members here I may give myself a little push and finally take the step.
This seems like a very friendly place, and I am looking forward to spending some time here.
