Your next sword, pole Arm, or armor?
Just ordered an A&A Pole Axe, should get it by late november as an early X-Mas gift to myself.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the Albion Squire line will look like: Can't decide which one to get yet, probably one of the H&H. (Was leanning towards XIIa but the finished "Castelan" is seducing me towards the Pointy/Pointy XVa.)

The single fullered "Sovereign" (Name that sword line) is also a possibility: I fuller, two fullers ? I have to see how the finished ones compare in looks and in price.

A next generation Gladius or Spatha is also tempting!

EVERYTHING is TEMPTING! Must win lottery SOON....... (JOKE)
The only sword I have currently on order is one from Patrick Bartà. I am also waiting for Albion's XIX and Gus' sabres.
next sabre
Also awaiting the atrim sabres... If I dont like them I guess ill get the lutel and have it customized...
Well I'd like to get a bugei Wave Katana, customised to my specs...but I dont have anything really on order.

My funds are going towards my trip to the US in May next year and restoring my 1974 XB Ford falcon...anyone who knows cars knows that aint cheap. But aside from the katana I'd really love a patrick barta sword, I mean the prices are just so right and I'm yet to not be impressed with one of his swords.
Im going for the Albion Squire line type XII.
I plan on doing a bit of stage fighting , and after talking to Eric at Albion, I think this is the weapon for me.
and how can you beat that price?

Bob
Tapped out on sword funds for this year. Next two on the list, as budget allow, a Armour Class Tower hanger(Proto-Mortuary) and just for curiousity sake, a MRL Falchion.

Bill
aka William
Don't know what or if next will be.

Adventures at work tend to limit options from time to time.

For a stage combat sword, you can beat that price, but you can't beat the quality at that price. I will prbably be getting one of the Squire Line longswords, not sure yet which one.
New Armour Wants
Jean, great idea for a thread.

Right now I guess I need to start saving/selling junk to fund my completion of my harness. I traded into a Illusion Armouries Peascod breast/back and tassets (I traded my Steve Moffat peascod breast and back that fit my friend, whereas his new Illusion fit me, thus the trade.)... now I need to get a pair of pauldrons, vambraces/couters/rerebraces from Mercenary's Tailor. Maybe a new gorget as well that fits the harness better. I foolishly traded off my close helmet some years ago, so now I get to search for either another one of those or a good burgonet with buffe. I know they're out there, just have to find the right one at the right price.

My last acquisition was a 16th Century style basket-hilted broadsword with an Erickson hilt on an Angus Trim blade, rather akin to the one Sean Flynn got in the contest. It's a WONDERFUL sword, but since I busted my wrist, I haven't been able to put it to good use of yet! Gack.

Right now I'm awaiting with bated breath my pair of snaphaunce horseman's pistols (ca. 1580) by Dale Shinn... they should be ready by December, so I know what I'm getting for Christmas too!

Gordon
Well, I'm awaiting the delivery of a polaxe at the moment, Lucerne hammer kind of layout, I'm looking forward to that arriving. But even more exciting I have an Italian style harness near to completion too. It's a bid of a budget job, but I've worked with the armourer to make it cheap by being simple rather than getting a complicated but badly made harness from a lesser maker, so it's open cannons and simple poleyn wings etc. I'm a big fan of simple and functional so it should be just up my street! ;)
Gordon;

Snapaunce pistols! That would make for an interesting revue, also with your 16th century cavalry (Practical experience) you might be interested in writing an article(s) at some future time when your wrist has recovered. ( The story about "How" you broke your wrist, recreating the battle of Hastings for the history channel might also be worth taking about, as well as your conclusions about the effects of falling off a horse when in armour!)

General comment addressed to all:

Also, note that although this site seems focused mostly on European Swords due to the collecting interests of the more "active" members, I would personnally enjoy hearing more about early Firearms, Crossbows, Pole Arms, Armour, Asian weapons etc..... I am not an official spokes person for the site, but I am sure that this site is open to ALL historical weapon topics.

Now lets get back to the topic of your next purchase or at least what you will buy when you have found the funds!
Well, a few weeks ago, I ordered an A&A "French Medieval Sword" with a custom grip and custom scabbard. Also ordered their Rondel dagger with scabbard to match the sword. Expect it in early December.

After that, I have a choice to make: I want to get an Albion Next Gen. The problem is choosing just one. It will be either the Prince, Landgraf, Sempach or Regent. The prince is a tad early for me, but it is SO DARNED GORGEOUS! I was thinking a late-14th, early 15th century hand-and-a-half, so the landgraf or sempach would fit that bill. But I already have a Black Prince, so maybe I'll go for the Regent and half a mid-late 15th century hand-and-halfer. Oh the agony of choice.

Mike
I would love to get some kind of lugged spear but my finances simply won't allow it now.

A Partizan would be cool too
Gary;

I have the 12th century spear from A&A last time I looked it was $130 u.s. and very good quality.

They also have an other winged spear that you might like in their catalogue.

Oh yes, I'm quite aware of the very nice A&A sellection. I had a chance to buy a used one some time ago and kick myself for not grabbing it up :(

Unfortunately, I'll still have to wait until some bills are paid.
I've got quite a few things in the queue. Probably too many things, but such is life.

My spring steel 15th century gothic cuirass by John Gruber should arrive sometime next week (very excited about this!), and I've already commissioned him for a matching sallet and bevor.

In the sword department, I have on order an A&A Milanese rapier, one of the new Albion squire line Type XVa, a DT2161 sidesword from Art Elwell, and a prototype AT1592 that James at AllSaints was discounting. There are also a couple lower end swords that I'm debating on taking a risk on, particularly the Cold Steel smallsword.

Been working like crazy the past few months, and now it's time to reward myself! :D
A couple weeks ago I had almost enough money collected to order a custom cutlass. I'll leave the smith unnamed for now.

Then my cat decided he needed $600+ worth of medical attention.

(sigh)
