Hi,
I would like to know, if someone would be kind enough to let me know, (or point me in the right direction), the type of armour and weaponry used by the, 'Polish Winged Hussar,' from inception till 1600?
I have found some information, but it is limited and varies as a mixture of the different surrounding Nations and has much Turkish influence.
I thank you,
DaddyArtur
Hi ChadA,
I have read this, but it is not detailed enough w.r.t. the style of helmet and sword, (pre-1600), which is what interests me the most. I have come across several plates and photographs of the late 1500's, but unfortunately, there is never enough detail in them! My late father was from Posnan, where the Museum, hangs the painting of the Warrior, of the link you kindly sent me.
Many thanks for your help, it is much appreciated.
Best wishes,
DaddyArtur

Yo Artur ... I spent many a good day online researching the Hussars, due to the
fact I've two incredible Hussar-style sabers in my possession made by two
incredible makers ...
Here's a couple websites, with pics and books galore, that I've had great fun
returning to over and over. Just as I've always had great fun returning to myArmoury
over and over. I do hope they aid you in your interest, as they've aided me.

Hi Matthew,
Excellent!
I recently joined a Medieval Sword fighting Club and You can take on the persona of whatever Warrior/Knight you wish, but only in the period from the Vikings till 1603. I am looking for some re-production battle-ready Armour, Sword and Helmet, from the named period.
I will enjoy these links. Many thanks indeed.
If you get the time and wish to oblige me further, can you send me some pics of your swords please?
Best wishes,
Artur
P.s. I will have to try and learn my forgotten Polish! My father never taught us much. My mother was Scottish!

As other gentlemen would encourage, you can click into the historical forum and
use their search engine to try and find other threads, pictures, and conversations.
You got to be persistant, though, and try variations on the theme ...

Hi Matthew,
What can I say? I am so glad I found this site.
Your Sword is a work of art! I know I do not need to telll you to care for it well.
Thank you again, both you and Chad A, for all the links and directing me on the the first rung of my ladder to the Winged Hussars.
The Club I joined is called, "The Motley Wolf." They are based not far from me in Croydon, UK.
There are one or two 'YouTube,' video's of some of the members doing a bit of Sworld-Play. You may find them amusing.
Talk to you when I am futher forward.
Off to my kip now as it is 0303 BST here is the UK...
Best wishes,
Artur
