Hello:
I am going to finally attach a reproduction Lucerne Hammer head to an oak haft. It is based upon an original whose haft has a tassle below the head.
I was wondering how a tassle is made, or are modern equivalents available?
Thanks! :D
Sincerely,
Dustin Faulkner
Dustin,
Don't know what size you are looking for, but try your local drapery shop. Can find them here in the SF area about 5-6 inches long with the ball about 1-1 3/4 inches in diameter. I've used a few on various items and they are not that expensive. Also used an old set of cords and tassels from an old bagpipe to decorate a Scottish target.
Have a poleaxe coming from A&A, so I will try your idea......
Cheers,
Dan
