See my post on the Musee de l'Armee thread about these being different weapons. I guessed there that this would be ca. 1580-1620. Guess what? The weapon below (
Wallace Collection A602) is dated c. 1620. :D It's North Italian, so I think you're getting close to your target! Does yours have a maker's mark?
