Wow! That's quite a collection you've got there. Bet it took some time to amass all those weapons. :)
Just out of pure curiosity: That DT twohander... How stiff the blade on that one? Reasonably? A little flexy? I'm wondering because I own a Lutel renaissance twohander and the blade on that one is flexy -to the point of almost being wobbly. I've never gotten to handle any antique twohanders so I have nothing to compare with.

did you ever sell paul chen products as well as offer a tsukamaki service?

Thanks,
It took about two years or so... The Two hander is a Del tin and is kinda whippy... not too bad, but diferent. I actually dont cut with it, for the only time i did I think the handle cracked inside... :-( It feels fine, but just not my thing (from a user perspective) From a collection standpoint though: It is the centerpiece. Period. It's one of my FAV's |
Yeah, I know what you mean when you say it's one of your favorite pieces. So is my twohander. They are just so awesome and impressive.
I don't do any cutting with my twohander either. The main reason is that the edges are not correct. I guess it qualifies as a semi-sharp. Not it is near as those historical twohanders I have viewed seem to be. And the handle... Don't get me started... Mine was making nasty creaking noices already when I took it out of the box. :\
As for the whippiness: I wonder how whippy a historical renaissance twohander would be compared to your DT or my Lutel.

good point... makes me wonder about those 20' pikes...
and yes the creaking in the handle was a concern I also had... hence why I took it out of the cutting medium, And, yes, I once turned down working with/for Albion... still kicking myself.... I belive it was the guys at Albion.... who called and asked if I wanted to help out on wrapping some of their customers swords.... I was really young then. (back in '97 or so... when I was still selling and refitting swords for a living) Now older and wiser (or bitter/jaded still deciding) I would love a chance to work with/for them any chance I could get. *Cough*Hint*Hac!k*hint*Ahem!*-excuse me. |
geeze '97... has it been that long since? time is moving so fast.
hey alex... still have that GO with the blue ribbed saya?

Nah, I sold that near the end... still have photos though... Shouldn't have sold it really. I miss it... *sniff* |
glad to see ya "old timer".
stick around, we'll talk about old times.
I posted into this thread and screwed up doing so. It detracted from the sharing of a nice collection. Back on-topic, and sorry for my mistake.

you know what, don't worry about it. Swords are more important. My soul is rough and unpolished and I still have much to learn of humility. My Riposte was hard and fast, and tempered with unflinching directness. Happens when you have flashbacks and a troubbled mind.
I will contemplate this.
until then: buy the first Albion Count so we can get the goods on it, ok? :D

Funny you should say that: I just ordered one just a couple days ago!
I see your ways "evil do-er" :p
I bought Geoff Freeman's Crecy... so, my apetite is subsided.... for now..... had a desert ordering of one of vlalentine armories "hand-holding-a-dagger" war hammers... this helped... if he ever sends it. :\ (you got time to take the order, fill out the order, charge my account, reply to email inquries, but not walk over take it off the shelf and toss it in a box and get it out? thats what shop-monkeys are for!.) :\
