This is the armet of the Maximillian type from 16.th century currently on display in Wallace collection (at least it says so).
This is the only picture i have of the helmet, and would like to see more from different angles (im interested if this piece is like so many other Maximillian helmets "bulbous" in design by default):
unfortunately i do not have an exhibition piece article number

Note that the example he's looking for has five spikes on the visor and the left-hand mannequin only has four, and also note the triple comb on the helm he posted. The two at the feet of the closest mannequin and that mannequin obviously have the wrong style of combs, one being a wide triple, another a single and one lacking any stand-out fluting at all. The helm on the the lower right side of the right-hand harness (being on the far left of the photograph) has an extended neck guard and is probably a close helm if that be the case, definitely not fitting the bill. The one on the lower left of that same harness very well may be what you're looking for, though. It's hard to tell since it's facing away in the image. I believe it is due to the way that the unique triple comb and the sharpness of the visor spikes, and there are also eight small flutes between the outermost raised comb and the visor hinge!

(EDIT: Your edit beat me to the punch!)
Methinks unless if it was recently taken off the floor, then the one I picked out in Adam's picture is not the one. There is a picture of this particular Armet in Carlo Paggiarino's The Wallace Collection, but it is an extreme close-up of the visor area and not suitable for your purposes.

Hi Boris,
I was at the Wallace a minute ago and the item is on display, and that's the helmet on Gregory's cropped image.
I didn't remember exactly the one you were interested in, except that it had one (and not many) fluted crest on the top (that's too bad because I've got great pics of the one standing right next to it :)
I'll post them tonight.
Cheers,
J

Well the pleasure is all mine
I'll go back next week as it is two tube stops away from my office and I find it a much more entertaining lunch break than sitting at my desk chewing a sandwich while watching stuff on youtube :)
I'll get some better shots. If there is some details you are after (close up of rivets, decoration etc) let me know
Cheers,
J
