Hello, First off I am sorry If i am posting this in the wrong area, I was not able to find an area to post in and when I thought I did, it told me I was not allowed to, I am new to this forum and I need some help. I have 2 swords and one bayonet that I really need some Info on.....I got them from my father and he did have a little info on one, but that was all.........I will post the Pictures below, Any info would be great, "year, maker, value, ect. Thank you in advance...The one I have info on if the first set of pictures "1700's stag handle, one visable star both sides of blade, 28"overall, 23" blade.short sword" The second sword is also stag handle, it has one cresent moon and 3 star and both sides of blade, its 26"overall the blade is 21 1/2" long........And the last, The bayonet its 20" over all wood handle i think and looks like 5067203 on butt but im not sure its kind of faded, So thank you any help would be great Sorry it will NOT let me upload ANY pictures, If anyone could email me at aja13501@aol.com And I could email you Pictures I would appricate it........Thanks

The swords look like 19th century hunting hangers to me. The bayonet looks WWI era to me, but I don't really know.

Maybe of the more knowlegable users on here can shed some light on them.

I can't help you with the Hangers, but the bayonet appears to be a Japanese Type 30.

I agree it does look like a japanese bayonet I have nearly identicle one here thats japanese.

I agree with the previous posters. the first two are hunting hangers most likely. the bayonet is one of these.

Hello Anthony,
Both the hunting swords are from the late 1600s-early 1700s. The first one is missing the shellguard, and may be European, with that blade fullering.
The second one is probably English.

Thank You everyone for your Input it has been VERY helpful. I found the bayonet so I know what the value is.......As far as the swords go I cannot find anything like them, Or even a price to go by, I was reading handmade, go for ALOT more then Machine made, Any Ideas? Thanks.....

Anthony, as far as the value of your two hunting swords goes, I'll tell you what I've seen: recently a similar looking one went for $168 on eBay, while another went for around $800. If you go to a few antique sword sellers' web sites, you can see hunting swords similar to yours listing for as high as $2,000. Without holding yours, or knowing what you were looking to get for them, I would be inclined to offer somewhere between $200 and $400, IF I were currently in the market, that is ;) . Perhaps yours would fetch more, maybe less. Anywho, that's my 2 cents. Good luck, and neat swords!

Get ahold of the book "Swords and Blades of the American Revolution" by George Neumann. It is pretty much a photo book, with different types of swords treated in different sections. It has a lot of hunting sword photos, and you can find photos of pieces similar to yours. The book has dates, weights, measurements, etc.., and is a trove of information on swords of the 16 and 1700s.
