i am thinking of constructing some long tassets, like in the 16-17th cent. examples. 6-7 lames, just a few inches above the knee. i want them to buckle directly onto the cuirass. (merctailor btw) i want them to kinda cover like a fauld too. what materials, equipmant, design, ect do i need? where could i aquire these things? im a total noob w/ this, so dont leave out any tidbit o' info plz.

there are some good shots (interior and exterior) on how to construct these on page 180 of Arms and ARmour of the Medieval Knight.
Unless you want to make them to shotproof standard, you can get a good result from thinnish sheet metal.
I 've made perfectly functional bits of harness using the metal from filing cabinet shelving.
Mind you, the powder coating had to be burnt off first. You don't want to be breathing that.

haha, actually, no, but still pretty funny! i love how they armour the kids! (haha, my future household much)
It would appear the man in the center right cannot bend at the waist. Weird way of painting it I think.

well, i was thinking a more landsknechte type thing, but that seems to be a big flaw in the armour.....
