Hello guns,
in my City, Trani, many monuments, castles and churches, have a high historical value.
Perhaps this may have helped to awaken in me a passion for history, and swords.
Invitation to post here, your monuments and a small description.
Perhaps it is also a way to know us better.
In an area of 20 km. OK, I think.
here my most significant.
Description:
Templar church: year 1250. Here the Templars were doing their activities.
The port of my city served by transit for ships in the Middle East
The church stood near the mansion, and was also the hospital and from hospital for the pilgrims.
This is attested by an inscription on the main facade, which informs us of the presence of Constantine, the same doctor and abbot of DOMUS.
HIC REQUIESCIT COSTANTINUS ABBAS ET Medicus ESPON PRO ANIMA EIUS
Here lies Constantine, abbot and doctor, pray for his soul

That is interesting. Close up on the architecture, are there any gnostic like symbols or interesting designs?
I guess I'm a bit spoilt for choice.
I live 15 minutes from Durham Cathedral and Castle
5 mins from Brancepeth Castle
20 mins from Auckland Castle
20 mins from Witton Castle
35 mins from Raby Castle
40 mins from Barnard Castle
and that's just the castles (and cathedral).......
I could go on about the stately homes, manor houses, priories, monasteries, churches etc. etc. which make this part of England so interesting for a mediaevalist like me.

The style is Romanesque. On the right side leads to the pagan symbols on the left side with Christian symbols.
A man's head, very similar to Baphomet.
Here, a re-enactment I did too.. :)
my best friend killed in an attack.
In the photo below, the interior of the church, view from the main entrance.
the history in your hand. ;)

dear Julian,
I was in England 2 years ago. In your land I've seen the most beautiful castles.
This is the castle of my town and The cathedral (1099)
Built by Frederick II Hohenstaufen, (ah, his sword, one of my favorites.)
In the castle, his son Manfred and Elena Comneno dell'Epiro, marry.
on the portal of entry:
IAM NATI XRISTI DOMINI ANNIS MILLE DUECENTIS / CUM TRIGINTA TRIBUS FEDERICI CESARIS ANNO / IMPERII TRINO DENO IERUSALEMQUE OCTAVO REGNI / CUM MENSIS IVNII AC INDICCIO SEXTA FORET OPUS / HOC HINC SURGERE CEPIT.
(In 1233, the thirteenth empire Frederick Caesar and eighth of his kingdom of Jerusalem, in June and in the sixth call, then this began to arise)

I have an old manor house about 10 or 15 minutes from me; would that be acceptable? It's 17th century if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, yes. You could create, in your old manor house, backdrop to the historic theme.
Being in Hollywood is a big advantage. :p
Maurizio
Well, it's 18th century, and I have no camera so I cannot take my own photograps. However, here's a link:

Another castle, outside the city on a hill.
Castle of Frederick II, Frederick II here, hunted with hawks.
To build it, they were used money and guidance, the Knights Templar.
A strange castle, many Templar symbols. Dominated by knowledge, here experiments in alchemy.
In 1224 he founded the University of Naples,
His court was also one of the most important centers of mathematical studies in Europe together with the centers of the universities of Paris and Oxford.
The building complies with the numerical series of Fibonacci, known by Frederick II.
The number 8 is a constant construction.
It is with base 8 sides. has 8 towers with 8 sides. (8x8 = 64 (by subtracting the sides in common) -8 = 56).
The number 56 is carved into the rock.
Frederick II died in 56 years, most recently in Palermo opens his tomb, his finger was found a ring with a flower with 8 petals.
8 flowers to the right of the portal
8 flowers to the left of the portal
8 large rooms on the ground floor,
8 large rooms on the 1st floor
8 large rooms on the 2nd floor.
In a house where nothing is left to chance, surprised me one thing.
The spiral staircases in the towers are arranged in a counterclockwise direction (unlike the castles I've seen.)
Clockwise, the enemies are getting challenged the sword with his left hand, this is a disadvantage. I have no news, other castles, which had scales in favor of the enemies.
A curiosity.
These days, April 8 and October 8 (Midsummer solstice and winter) in a large room with no windows, two rays of the sun, through the slits and light up a rectangle. The engraving on this rectangle, with time, are lost.
The strange thing is that, a sense of fear assails those who are in the room, that grows up to be evil, you must exit. Suggestion? . :\
