Hey everyone, I have been keeping busy lately but I decided to make some changes to the Type XIV and XII that I had posted a while ago.
The Type XIV got a new grip. I had to grind the tang down and refit the fittings to avoid having the old opening which were wider showing. That is the only change really, here is the link to the old thread: http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?p...ht=#150258
Overall: 36 3/4”
Blade: 30 3/4”
Fuller length: 27 3/4”
Width at guard: 2”
Width 2” from tip: < 3/4”
Weight: 2.1 lb
CoP: 20” from guard
Balancing Point: 4 1/2” from guard
$975 plus shipping
The Type XII got a new pommel which drastically changed the way this sword handles for the better. I was oringinally going to have a rounded surface leading to the raised facet but it felt so good when I tested it prior to rounding the face that I left it flat. It feels a lot more like business in the hand and the blade is much more responsive. Here is the link to the old thread:

Very nice looking swords Michael- the specs look good too!
Thanks Michael! Working the blades to be properly balanced and work as a whole is the fun part! It was actually pretty interesting how the added weight of the pommel changed the blade. I was re entering the new stats. and kept and eye on the wieght, PoB, and CoP. Interesting stuff, that is when play time turns into science and math time!
Michael-
These look fantastic. I applaud your "revisited" alternations. It's funny, as the same process is done in other design projects as well such as the things I do in my work. I "finish" things all the time only to take them apart and change them for a brand-new "final" design :)

Great work as usual and if I don't comment on everything you are currently making it's only because I've run out of anything original to say as I've used up all the superlatives in my vocabulary. ;) :D
Your Viking pattern welded sword on another Topic thread is impressive as well !
Love the double fullers and complex grind on the second sword a lot.

Those are really good prices for CUSTOM work of this quality. Keep up the great work Mike. Can't wait to see these in person. See you next week.
