12thC Norman swords - recommended suppliers
I have a supply contract for 10 assorted wheel and brazil nut pommel swords circa 1150-1200 and am trying to source decent or reasonably decent replicas - anybody got any leads.

I need them within a month, they need to be sharp, but will be wall hangers and I am happy to strip down and rework furniture and handles etc to improve matters and differentiate one from another.

Oh yeah no more than $200 or so.............

Help would be very gratefully received.

Thanks

Tod
Windlass makes good "kit" swords that benefit from simple upgrades. Some are under $150 USD at Kult of Athena:

(we recently reviewed this one here and were very impressed. It's a great candidate for upgrade and a better candidate for re-sale if you're going to be stuck with these things at the end of the project.)
I think only the first one would pass as a 12th century sword.
Hi,

I can't tell you how accurate this sword are is but it's available at discount from Windlass. It is kind of brazil-nutty but not quite, maybe you could re-work it.

Thanks guys, myArmoury comes through again.

I think the first sword can be easily reworked, the second can be shoe horned in there and the one posted by Ian could also be reworked - so it looks like Windlass is the way to go.

I will keep you all posted on what I do with them.

Thanks

Tod
