I'm looking to try my hand at making a scabbard. A standard medieval style wood core with leather wrap routine. Although I've never done it before, I'm pretty good with my hands and have decent experience with crafting and what not. All the information I've found in my searches has either been vague, or encourages the use of synthetic construction materials like insulation foam, cardboard, and even electrical tape. I'm not one for quality shortcuts, and I have a basic idea of how to go about the project. I just need some good guidance material to use as reference. I was hoping somebody could turn me onto a tutorial or other info on entry/intermediate level scabbard construction. Anything at all would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
