Looks very nice! I like the grip color. Congratulations! :D

Blade seems very cleanly executed.

I have been eyeing this sword since its inception. I am thinking about this word as a present for my brother who is working on his PhD in medieval history. I would like to get it for him as a graduation present with Latin inscriptions on the pommel and cross and perhaps the school crest ( Geaux Tigers!). I think this sword would lend itself perfectly to engraving. Very nice choice James.

Is this the "campaign brown grip"?

Sometimes it looks good and sometimes it doesn't. In this case it looks great.

To be honest, I realy wasn't crazy about the Norman when it was first released(partly because I wasn't too interested in that period).I decided to add one "cruciform" sword to my collection.I originaly decided on the templar, but since it isn't coming out until June....well you know how that goes.I also wanted a sword that would be a good representative of the broadest period of time, both swords are very typical High medieval swords,but I believe the Norman would have been in use earlier circa 1000 A.D. (the Templar "looks" more 12 century) and would have been in use as late as 1300 A.D.While I was brooding over which to purchase I spent alot od time researching the High Medieval period(and playing Medieval Total War).I Love this period,the mail,the swords,the crusades etc.It is often said that pictures simply do not do something justice ,in this case it is very true.This sword is sooo simple but sooo perfect.Pic of Norman and Gotland...both 11 century but very different swords.

Ah, the Gotland! I just ordered one of those with a custom grip color... mmm... can't wait for that one to come.

It is getting more difficult to refuse the Norman's charms, but I think I will hold off until Albion offers a sale that applies to the Norm. Whenever that may be. ;)
