My new Albion Ritter
Well UPS just showed up with my new Albion Ritter with blued furniture. This was surprising since I didn't order it 3 months ago. I ordered it less than three weeks ago! To say that I like this sword would be an understatement. Regardless of what you may think of the historical accuracy of bluing on swords from this period I hope you'll agree that it just plain "looks good" on this sword. The grip color is oxblood which I think goes nicely with the blued components.

That looks REALLY good. I love that a lot.

You didn't pull any strings to get a 3-week turn-around? That's fantastic. Albion must be in high gear right now.
The blueing looks fantastic! It sorta looks like the original that inspired it with the blueing. The oxblood looks perfect! I was surprised at how sweet a sword the Ritter is when I got mine, how do you like the way it feels?

Oh, if only I had that kind of power! :D If it makes you feel better I also ordered a Bayeux with antiqued furniture and that arrived yet. I'm guessing that they grind out blades when they have spare time. Since the Ritter blade is used on at least 3 swords this might explain it...

Tim,

Thanks! I love the handling as well. And did I mention it is sharp!?!?! It seems much sharper than my others for some reason. One of the reasons I had it blued was because I liked the way the original looked darkened by age. I think this adds a lot of character to it. I humbly suggested to Mike that they should post more pics on their website of blued hilts because it can really change the look of a sword.
