Hello to evrybody, I'm Paolo from Italy.
I have a question, does someone know this knive or sword: http://www.masseriafabbri2.altervista.org/Concorso/Mashenron.htm
Thanks a lot!
Paolo
How long is it? In my opinion it is a fantasy blade that is based on a bastard mix of a cutlass/falchion/bowie knife.........If you are looking for something similar, someone posted that Muesem replicas limited is having a closeout sale on their archers falchion.....While it is a much plainer blade with only basic hilt furniture, I'd bet money that it is a better quality blade.
My first thought was "fantasy blade" as well. Curious to know where it comes from.
That is deffinantly a fanticy blade made to show the makers skill as an engraver and carver. A score of 0 as an historical piece but top marks as a work of art.
Hi Paolo,
I believe that piece is by Ron Best. He does a lot of integral pieces that are IMHO, quite nice. Here is a link to the piece you have with additional info. Unfortunately, I don't speak Italian, so you may already have it :D

It looks rather Gil Hibben-ish. It strikes me as kinda familiar somehow, but I can't quite place it.
Thank you very much James.
