My biggest complaint with the CAS/H longsword prototype (that many of you shared) was that they had 'squared off ' my original design. They have addressed that complain and gone a step further...
Blake from CAS/H has emailed me to say that the revised handles for the Tinker Longswords are in. The are now beveled correctly and feature a cord-wrap under the leather- which was more than I'd hoped for at this price point and will increase the handle's durability. The guys at Hanwei really are delivering above and beyond my expectations!
The latest word is that production swords will be arriving in July.

We felt with the dismountable hilt and user nature of the Tinker line the grips should get a cord wrap. Not only is this a feature usually only found on much more expensive pieces for aesthetic and historical reasons but it also serves a functional purpose in greatly strengthening the grip.
Prototypes form Hanwei on the Bastard and Early Medieval Swords showed up at Blade Show and Tinker was pleased. We've gotten approval to go ahead with both models as-is and production should begin shortly.

Great news indeed.
Blake is a member of our study group & guild and we had the chance to play with the proto-types in practice some.
Eagerly awaiting these to hit the table. Everyone in the group really liked them minus the slight grip issue.
Thanks for the update.
Cheers,
Bill

Is there any news on the Viking model? They all look like great swords, but to me, the Viking sword is the most appealing.

I'm not sure- I know that there is a 'full-court press' to get production on-line, but as I haven't even seen a CAS-made prototype of this sword yet my best guess would be September at the earliest. That is just a guess though; I know that they are hoping for August...

Roger,
No updates on the 9th Century Viking as of yet, unfortunately. We have been concentrating on producing these 3 models first. Hanwei has Tinker's prototype and now that the Bastard and EMS protos are finished should be working on the Viking now.
I should have it available for pre-order soon.
Blake
Blunts look tasty.
Like the Medieval too.
