A relative has this World War I - vintage short sword. It is about 27 inches long and includes a scabbard and sword. Both are matched serial number and in very good to excellent condition. The writing could be Cyrillic which leads me to believe this may be Russian. The blade is stamped 1912 and some type of proof mark which also looks Cyrillic. The blade is curved and has blood groove. The scabbard is some type of rigid material, possibly leather, with brass tip and brass belt loop. The wood handle has two large rivets similar to bayonets I have seen but it seems too long and curved for a bayonet. Can you help identify its type and origin?

Imperial (Zarist) Russian artillery side arm. Kind of a militarized large, curved kindjal (double edged).

I assume these were probably stamped out by the hundreds or thousands at some point.
It appears to be in very good to excellent condition.

Though not particularly rare, these are in high demand because of the recent interest in Russian arms. I would say $600 value for one in excellent condition. The existance of replicas says also something about the demand.
