There isn't too much to say about this sword that the pictures don't convey. The Squire is totally amazing -- both in finish and feel. I am extremely pleased with my purchase -- I dreamed of a XVI-type sword and the perfect example (as far as I am concerned) arrived at my doorstep yesterday.

It's always hard to judge size from a handful of pics, thus I was surprised by the size of the pommel. Having held the sword and swung it around for a while, the pommel and grip have really grown on me. The "weathered" look of the grip is fantastic. Also, I was surprised at the amount of flex in the blade. I guess that since this sword is both a cutter and a stabber, some flex is required to maintain its cutting ability.

Thanks to everybody at Albion for making this sword a reality -- it has exceeded my expectations by a wide margin. And thanks to Mike and the rest of the customer service team. This time, they went WAY above the call of duty to help me out. Howy -- give Mike a raise already!

The Squire is a baeauty Stephen! That's also quite a substantial blade too. I am surprised at how wide it is at the base. The photos on Albion's website give no frame of reference. What a beauty!

That "business end" is remarkably sharp, isn't it? It's nice to see both this blade and some of the larger ones with more rounded contours being delivered at the same time.

I hate to suggest it, but this sword and the Prince would both look great with some artificial patination/aging applied. They are works of art fresh from the factory, but would also show real character in their old age.

Congrats on the new sword! I must admit that my interests are usually limited to 17-18th century swords. But I think it is great to see these swords transformed from Peter Johnsson's concept art to the creation of the actual sword. Albion is doing an awesome job! I wouldn't mind owning one. ;)

What ArmArt did you get, by the way? I imagine some of their more expensive swords would be pretty tight and well-made.
