2008 Albion Price Increase
As in, we aren't doing one this year.

Though the pressures on us are pretty intense (increases in steel, bronze, shipping, labor, health insurance, capital improvements, and just about everything else it seems), we have, after much deliberation, decided that the economy is just too bad for our customers to impose another increase.

We will instead continue to invest our efforts in improving production: producing more - better and faster - with no decrease in quality. Hopefully, that will get us through.

Thanks to all of our customers for your support!

Warmest regards,

Howy

That is good news. I hope it will allow you to have a tremendous year!
Albion price
This is great news. I was going to order another sword this year, but if I can find a Roundtable in my area I will order two.
Thanks Howy. When I saw the title of this post, I was dismayed, but I feel better knowing that things are going to stay the same for now.
Phew! And with me saving up for a gladius and a Doge too...
This is indeed great news. I should be recovered enough from Christmas by March so I'll be calling Mike to place an order. I hope this becomes a bumper year for you.
What a relief. I hope that you can make it up in sales; it's gonna be a tight year for a lot of folks by the sound of it.
That is always good news. I also think Albion should try and do something -- bimonthly
for instance -- like they did this past Christmas. Posting some available-for-immediate-
delivery swords. I'd be willing to guess there are some people out there who don't place
an order because of the wait -- maybe no so much because of a lack of patience as who
knows what will happen in 16 weeks plus -- and might jump at the chance to own a sword
they could get quickly.

I realize this likely poses a problem or two as well, but just a thought ....
I would have understood if you'd had to do it, but I'm glad you didn't.

Now I must express my gratitude by advancing (or at least maintaining) my timetable for the Valkyrja and Svante. :)

You guys rock. :D
Hah, I'm just glad you aren't in Maryland!

They raised our sales tax this year :(

Hopefully, sales improve!

Thank God. If there had been another price increase, I would never have another chance to buy another Albion, unless I won the lottery. I just don't have that much disposable income.

Yes ! I actually have hope of one day owning an Albion :).
Whew...good news since most likely my next sword is gonna be an albion...now back to choosing and saving :) .
Hi Howy, I want to congratulate all of you in this decision at Albion Swords in making this self sacrifice in the interest of your customers financial well being, buying power and out going concern for others!
This took a lot of character Howie!

I Salute You!

Bob
This is an impressive decision and I think a well-considered one. Although I think they are worth the price considering the very skilled work and research that goes into them, the NextGens are expensive enough to make them a much desired but almost unreachable goal for my collecting these days.
There are at least a few models either in production or upcoming that are on my "cant live without" list however, so your decision is fully appreciated and may make a difference to me.
If I may ask, how likely is it that the listed prices on models not yet prototyped will increase as they are put into production? I am thinking specifically on the Tyrolean?
