steel cross and pommel,beech grip with hemp binding and calfskin,finished with brass collars.

You've made me envious again...that wide fuller looks difficult to get so smooth but gives the blade a visual grace.
A simple overall form, very finely executed. I like it. Well done, Rob!

that is true,you will know that grinding a wider fuller is hard work to clean up,even fine grit scratches need to be completely polished out,this blade has a satin finish after the polish,although i am not completely happy with satinising,i think if the fuller is first polished and then the edges are ground and polished last then the finish is crisp.I pull the fuller out to almost the width of the blade at its end and grind the edge afterwards to give a nice deep fuller and also help a bit with the overall taper of the steel
