A forumite at SFI has created a website for Bashford Dean’s Catalogue of European Court Swords & Hunting Swords, and it can be found here: http://www.swordlinks.com/courtswords/courtswords.html It is a nice site that should prove useful to people interested in civilian swords.

From my understanding, the term "military rapier" is generally applied to the broader bladed cup hilted swords used in Spain through the 18th and early 19th centuries, similar to this one from One Hundred and One Antiques:
