Where can you get grey scotch-brite pads? I have been to Home Depot, Lowes, and Wal-Mart and cannot find them. I looked with the other sandingpads and abrasives near the paint section. Is there somewhere else that they would be? It would be very appreciated...

I get them from Jamestown Distributors online it's 20 bucks for a box of 20 plus shipping. They ship the next day and I havn't had any problems with them

I bought some at Home Depot the other day...Maybe yours was just out. If I recall they were with the sandpaper near where the woodstain is.

I had the same problem, but finally found them at an auto body repair store.

NAPA stocks them in green, red, and grey. :)
Well I found 3M pads in Green, Maroon, and Grey at my local hardware store, but they don't say scotch-brite on them. I bought the Grey 3M "wood finishing pad". It does not say a grit equivalent, but I did get the Grey one as opposed to the maroon or green. I don't think its the right thing though :confused:

As the thread I linked to says, you want "7448 Ultra Fine Scotch Brite Pads." Google that and you'll get results. I did and got linked to Amazon where I bought a large box of large pads. I've given away a number of them and I still have enough to last me for years to come.

Looks exactly like the pads I bought at " Canadian tire ", but since they are sold loose rather than in boxes they are not identified as being " Scotch Brite Pads " and no packaging or advertising was visible that I can remember.
In any case same brand or not they seem to be the same thing! Next time I'll look more closely just out of curiosity or ask a salesclerk. ( Assuming they have a clue about what they are selling. ;) :lol: ).
Well, they are grey but how dark gray are the genuine 3M ones ? Mine are close to black or very very dark grey and come in at least 3 degrees of grit from very fine to coarse. The fine ones blend perfectly with the finish on my Albions when I've used them to reblend the edges after some very light sharpening.
You know what works better then Scotch bright? I'll tell you. Micro mesh. We use it to dress frets on guitar necks. It's wonderful stuff for light to medium duty and is heads and tails above scotch bright pads.
