There are two falchions in the Kult of Athena catalogue that have me really intrigued. Has anyone handled either of these:
The Two Handed Falchion
or
The Footsoldiers Falchion
I'm wondering if the pommels are peened or the typical threaded. Are the handles nice and tight, or the typical blade moves just enough within the handle to be aggrivating?
I get that these are not Albion swords, but are they rigid, given the spine, or noodles?
Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks.
I handled the two-handed very briefly at a faire and the tang appeared to be peened. I was in a crowd, so I couldn't really test handling or flexibility or durability. The handle didn't seem to shift while I was holding it though.
Keep in mind, though, that shifting handles aren't always present in every example of a particular model. If one shifts, we shouldn't assume they all do. Conversely, if one doesn't shift it may not be wise to assume that no others will.

I too would like to know how The Footsoldiers Falchion stands up.
It lookd to be an interresting piece. I didn't see the The Footsoldiers Falchion at KoA, just in my MRL catalog.

Thanks Chad. I really like the looks of both of these, and I know Windlass is capable of making pretty good blades, but i also know that QC slips sometimes.
It looks like I'm going to have to role the dice on at least one of these, and then let you know how it turns out.
