i am looking for some form of schooling in the historical and maybe usage of weapons from everything prior to the boomstick. so far my search has been in vain but i am still trying none the less. I am near niagara falls Ontario. if anyone knows of some form of information i could learn from please answer my plea.

I suppose you are aware of the EAMMA in Toronto... I think it might be the closest historical fencing school for you. I'm not aware of any school near Niagara Falls unfortunately...

Our curriculum is built around the work of the late medieval Italian master Fiore dei Liberi. We also spent time on sword and buckler based on the anonymous I.33 manuscript.

please forgive my ignorance but what does SCA stand for?

SCA stands for the Society for Creative Anachronism. It's a reenactment group that as Allen's post implies is not necessarily 100% historical, but which may have more strictly historically-minded sub-groups. You'll have to do your own research on this front.
