I'm thinking very seriously of running a "Pay off the Damn Machine Sale", in order to end the machine payments, and the distraction of having to do Navy work in order to service the debt. Burying the debt means freeing up 10 days a month from Naval work, and doing sword work instead, with the obvious benefits of wiping out the backlog, and building stock happening quickly.......

I'm only thinking of doing 4 models, but have not really decided which ones.......

The arming sword I'm thinking of, normally sales for $370, will be $300 if its the arming sword for the sale, the AT1557.

The longsword candidates at the moment, are The AT1506, the AT1520, and the newer AT1566. These normally sell for $525, but for the sale would be $400.......

The top photo is one of the AT1520 and AT1566 with an alternate pommel. The second is the AT1566 with the most likely pommel for the sale.......

Soliciting ideas and suggestions for models. I'm not going to try and do customizations, as I need to be able to keep everything straight.......

Just my opinions and preferences...but count me in for:

- 1557 with wheel pommel and curved guard
- 1506 with scent stopper pommel
- 1566 with wheel pommel

As stated, those would be my preferences on these three swords. But I would likely buy all three no matter the pommel configuration...at these prices! WOOHOO!!! :D (please pardon my enthusiasm)

I sort of like the 1403 Warsword and the AT 1592 " Danish " longswordé

Lets just say one off these would be hard to resist sale or not. ;) :cool: If you decide to make one of these ( Leaning more towards the AT 1592 ) I would give you a quick confirmation and decision about it i.e. not a done deal YET .... But I'm very weak. ;) :lol: .

I would like a leather scabbard for it at the same time if I bought one.

Well, from a purely selfish point of view, I already own an Atrim sword that is very similar to the 1506, so I would be disinclined to purchase that particular model. I would be quite interested in buying a longsword or longsaber that is oriented towards cutting. I like:

The 1566 with wheel pommel. (since my current Atrim has a scent stopper)
The 1564 Bastard Backsword.
The 1573LS Longsaber

At $400 I can just about guarantee that I would purchase one of the above swords, especially something a little off the norm such as the Backsword or the Longsaber.

Like Jean, I would lean towards having the scabbard as well.

While payments from my last two swords may kind of make things tight, I would have to give some serious consideration to the $300 arming sword. :)

Yeah, both websites have been kind of inactive since the winter/ spring disasters. Something that I need to attend to, and something that this potential sale will expedite. One site disapears, the other becomes current...... just takes time, and i haven't had that time since the disasters......

If there's enough interest in the sale, and it then happens, one result will be the machine payment disapears {as in finished}, the Navy work disapears with it, and sword work and its support activity {website, shipping, etc} becomes back into total focus, things will work like this........

I'll need to round up the materials for this, and during the 1st month, I'd also clear all of the backlog already machined. Get it out, make those folks happy. Start machining the components for this project, guards, pommels, handle cores, blades of one model.......

The Navy work will be gone.......

The next month, machine second and third model blades, and any left over backlog......

The third month, finish and ship the first model, machine the fourth model blades, machine some future stock blades.....finish and ship second model and get third close........

Fourth month............finish and ship the rest, more stock blades.........etc......

Figure three weeks for Tinker made leather scabbards........

I like the ricasso on the 1506 so it wold be my first choice of swords to purchase.

Perhaps it is just me, but I prefer the scent stopper pommels to the disc pommels as the disc usually gets in the way of actually using the sword.

I really like the 1566 - and while I prefer the wheel pommel, the scent-stopper is fine as well.

I also like the look of the 1520 - so either would be fine with me!

Count me in on a 1403 if it goes on sale. That sword is a dream to handle.

Along the lines of "customization", would you consider peened pommel construction as a standard for the special sale run?
P.S. I like the 1506 and its ricasso as well!
