hi all,
i joined the forum as i need someone to tell me what the design differences were between the 12/13th century medieval swords (crusades) and the 15th century swords (war of the roses). especially the pommels.
im in a 15th century re-enactment group (even though this is out of my era of expertise!) and the group are extremely strict about authentisity of weapons and clothes etc.
except the swords we use look like ones ive seen in a book about crusader knights. The pommels on are swords are round but not flat the handles black with a cross nguard that makes the sword look alot like a crucifix.
i hope theres someone here who can help.
all the best
