Does anyone have any experience of these Mark Vickers swords from England? I've been hearing a bit about them on another forum but I'm unable to find reviews of them here.

I've got one of my own and handled about 5 others...they're very very popular with the guys in Leeds.

My own is a hand and a half. It handles like a dream and tracks though the guards magnificently. It's rebated for WMA use and the edges are nicely rounded and I have to do very little maintenence even after a whole weekend workshop. I'll admit it's not the greatest craftsmanship, the guard is slightly off straight, but my own is one he had hanging around his shop for a few years. All the others I have seen and handled have been excellently put together and all their owners are proud to have them.

Not bad prices either.

I Have three,
I've handled probly twenty to thirty of Marks sword's of various type's,
To be honest i am yet to see anything out there compare in the sub £400 market,4oo being the real high price point,
just a shame my taste in swords doesnt favout Marks excellent take and knowlwdge on historical swords,
he recently sent me a couple of pics of a falchion he made for fun with the knickname EvilOne,

I just thought i might let you know about an interesting sword i have just made for the fun of it.
It is quite unusual,it is from the castillon group,.On page 213 Records of the medieval sword is a hand and half with a rare hilt on its own but amazingly the royal armouries has hidden in its vault a falchion from the same find ,with the same hilt,so the fittings are believed to be from the same cutler,as this find tells us that production runs of hilts all the same were produced in the 15thcent.
I have had the pleasure to handle and sketch it a couple of times,though it is very fragile.

I must say it will make an ultimate cutting weapon ,i have made it with a 33.5 inch blade,weighing in at 3ibs roughly ,the balance point is 5 inches from the cross,has a rigid fullered and hollow ground blade and has a centre of percussion 9 inches from the tip,this sword is pure evil.

But personally i hope you all dont like his stuff :lol: nothing worse than longer waiting lists,last chat estimates were 8-12 months due to some people who keep offering him money to build bloody armour instead of swords :confused:
gimme a shout if you want the falchion pics,there only quick takes to show the general sword,not the usuall high end stuff many makers produce netwise,
