Anybody know of functional replica wheellock pistols availeable?

The only ones I can find are in parts from the rifle shoppe and are beyond my skills.

There isn't much at the moment. I've heard some rumours of someone setting up to make some in India, but that's about all I've gotten: rumours. A company called Mendi in Spain was making a wheellock for Navy Arms to import into the US about 20 years ago, and I assume that they made them for the European market as well, but I have no idea as to whether they might still be in production or not. Assuming that they're not, perhaps you could find one second hand, as that would probably be about your only option for a reasonably priced one.

If you don't mind spending some serious dinero though, there is a gentleman in Germany who makes some wonderful custom wheellocks. Here's his site:

Thank you Gordon. Indeed I am not prepaired to spend an arm and a leg.
Being of dutch birth I would like a dutch lock as this was a reliable as they came but the dutch gunsmiths are long extinct.

There is a gunsmith in England operating under the company name Albion Replica Arms too but he is not taking on orders because he has too many anyway.

I will try t find the spanish firm. One never knows.

I understand the why of the success of the flintlock and do not differ in the opinion on that. Just look as what is possible with a wheellock. This picture is taken from the underside of a pistol that was made by a dutch weaponsmith.

That's why I talked in the other thread about some wheellock-based decorative otifs that simply can't be applied to flintlocks...

Found a european source, http://www.albionsmallarms.co.uk/17th19thcent.htm and the price is 2471 USD and thus well over mý budget.

Either do a search and check out anything to do with locks, or just post a question. You'll get plenty of opinions on TRS products, from all sides of the argument.
