Cool question. :) The Oakeshott Type J1 pommel (wheel with raised boss. Boss has hollowed edges and a recessed center) was most popular during c.1420-1450 and was pretty popular in England. See the sword of Henry V.

But there are earlier examples of similar pommels. Most of these are variants of other pommel types (K, etc.) rather than J1.
The Type XIV in the Musee de l'Armee dates to circa 1350 and has a recess in the pommel. The sword of Edward III, of similar date, has a smallish one. Here's the Musee de l'Armee sword (photo courtesy of Manouchehr):

There is a Type XIII formerly in Oakeshott's collection with a hollow in its pommel. It's dated 1250-1300.
The Copenhagen Type XIV (whose hilt was the main inspiration for Albion's Prince) is dated anywhere from c. 1300 to 1475 (which Oakeshott thought was nearly 200 years too late):

The hollow isn't very wide, but a drawing by E.A. Christensen, shown in Records of the Medieval Sword, shows the hollow is well-formed and fairly deep.
So I suppose it wouldn't be out of the question anywhere between 1300-1450, give or take.
