A long time ago there was a thread that brought up messer scabbards. I did a search, and couldn't find which thread it was, but I recall someone saying that it was possible that messer's did not commonly have scabbards (though I also recall someone posting a picture from a 15th century painting that showed someone carrying a messer in a scabbard at the hip where the scabbard was damaged so that half of the blade protruded from it).
I was reminded of this thread because I was reading the Peter Falkner manuscript today, and there is an image of a person drawing his messer from a scabbard. The details aren't great, but I though it may be of some interest to others.

I had never thought of it before so I went through some of my art books and all the scabbards I could find were for Falchions by looking at the hilt styles. Once I get my computer running properly I'll try to post pictures of them.
Maybe someone has it on file but one of the best for falchion scabbards has to be Antonio Del Pollaiuolo's Battle of the Ten Naked Men c.1465.

I would be interested in what you guys can come up with. I have a messer in the works with Ollin, and I am in the queue for a scabbard with Tritonworks, so I would love to have some direction.
