The holiday weekend resulted in some closed galleries at the British Museum, but I was able to get some photos in the Viking era gallery, and a few others that included scattered swords from other exhibits. As with the other threads, I will add a few images per day. First up is a nice 10th century seax. Please enjoy and discuss!

Today's images are of an unlabeled ballock dagger with two scabbards. Any thoughts on dating this example or any other commentary is welcome.

Very interesting copper or bronze (?) work on the ballock grip.
Today we have a sword from Grave C, Dover, Kent. Is there any way to more specfically date this sword than to say 6th-7th centuries?
Thanks,
Jonathan
