Hi All,
Well I have had a bit of a run on Baselards recently and here are 3.
I made a pair for one customer of a 15thC style with quite a 'hard' and defined grip shape and of normal dagger proportions with about a 12" blade, this used one I made for Felix R couple of years ago as a base starting point. It has box wood grips, brass pins and some file work on the tang sides.
The other is a small sword sized knife with a 24" blade (by Owen Bush) and is based on one from Oakeshotts collection and shown on page 336 of 'The Archaeology of weapons'. This is a 14thC piece and has a slightly more rounded and bulbous handle. Unfortunately I didn't take and stats down before I sent it out, but even with such a broad blade and no pommel as such it handled very nicely. A wicked little piece with box wood grips, and steel pins.
The thrid dagger is one I made for a customer, proudly sent him the pictures at which point he reminded me he had cancelled it 3 months before..........such is the life of a terminally admin challenged maker. So this dagger is available for any interested at £230. It has box wood grips, copper split rivets for the grips and solid steel rivets for the guard/blade intersection. This dagger was based on one in the RA and shown here

I hope you like them and if there is anything you would like to know please ask away.

Great reproductions.
Do you have full stats / dimensions for the 3 Baselards? Overall length, blade length, weight, blade width etc?
Here are some more pics of the original Baselard from the Royal Armouries:

I generally don't take stats down for daggers and unfortunately I didn't take them down for the sword/dagger which I should have done.
Hopefully the new ower will will be able to drop me a line and I will try to get something posted up.
