I am having a lot of trouble finding information about my sword.
Should there be a number like a serial number on the blade? I can't find one.
Would the lack of a number or makers mark help date it?
Could there be a mark on the( tang?) the part of the blade inside the ( pommel ?) handle?
I have not found and double edged blades with fullers like mine, where could I find more like mine?
The only letters on the blade (picture below) don't look like any of the P D luneschloss blades I have seen ( some suggested it was a PDL sword.
I have looked for books on swords in stores and librarys in the Denver area and there is very little here.
Are there and suggestions on books that would help identify who and or where the blade was made?

Not finding any serial numbers is pretty common. IF there were any hidden ones, they might be found on the tang closest to the guard. But, again, I doubt you will find any. The initials would be about all you will ever have to identify the sword with.

I have seen fullers like this on Military swords from other European countries dating from the mid 18th Century.

I am not surprised you cant find anything in libraries or book stores to help you with. This is a very subgenre of sword collecting and there just is not alot published out there. At least in popular venues. You just have to keep digging around.

Also I am wondering what makes a Sword a Sword and a Saber a Saber?
My sword/saber? has a double egded 35" blade
