This time I ask you to really take your time and consider this new project. Also, I would like to ask all of your assistance in spreading this to your club, your organization and fighting friends:
It never ceases to amaze me what incredible people that make up the Historical Fencing community. Your hospitality, openness, willingness to share and generosity is second to none and just recently it struck me; Why not put that awesomeness to good use for a specific charity purpose?
So, I made a quick decision and from now on, for two months every year, HROARR will be gathering funds for a specific, internationally recognized charity organization.

It would be an honour for HEMA to organize a charity event to help Syrian civil war victims.
Please help spread this so we can make a difference! I think it is a great way to help people in desperate need while celebrating the chivalric ideals of both the knights/nobles and the burgher fencing guilds, which both emphasized helping the weak and poor, and in particular widows and orphans.
So tell your club mates and training partners. We have already gathered funds to feed 31 people for a month in just two days of running the charity. But I am sure we can do a lot better. And every dollar counts. As little as 5€ will feed a person for two full weeks.

Swordsmen and women,
Let's donate! Think of how much we have to be grateful for living in nations that are not in a state of war. So many of us buy translations of manuals, wasters, blunts, sharps and even armour in pursuit of our art. Surely, given how costly all of these things are, we can afford to donate some money to a worthy cause. Let's demonstrate that chivalry can still represent noble deeds and not just feats of arms.
